WHAT IS IPT?

Information and payment terminal (self-service terminal) is a software and hardware complex designed to accept payments or top up accounts in both payment systems and bank or other payment cards in the self – service mode (unattended terminal).

This type of device belongs to CAT (cardholder activated terminal) terminals. IPT can be floor-mounted, wall-mounted, built-in, or desktop. Accepts payment cards to pay for goods or services. It is used for money transfers both with the physical presence of the card, and without its presence, when the necessary data is entered manually. In the case of transfers, transactions are usually limited in amount and are referred to as anonymous transactions, for which the acquirer is not required to provide the entire list of personal data of the sender of the transfer and its recipient. Payments with cash deposits have become widespread. For cash disbursements, the IPT is practically not used. In general, it is a fairly common and convenient means of payment for the population.
